Returning To Normality

Hello everyone and welcome back to another monthly update post, and after the longest off-season I've ever had (basically stretching back to the final week in February when Baby1322 was born) it's time to finally get back to some normality. I've got new videos planned again, and stream plans that resemble the things I used to do before I became a dad and my whole world was turned upside down.

Getting back on my old stream schedule in terms of time of the day is probably going to be the hardest thing, and I'm not even sure I'll be able to do it at all for the evening streams. I tend to sometimes get a little loud especially when finishing a stream with Gfred, and I'm not sure if doing that at 8-9pm when Baby1322 will be in bed is the best strategy. At the moment I'm sticking with the 1pm start times that I've implemented over this off-season, but my hope is that I can gradually push those times back such that I'll finish streams when he's due to go to bed. These sort of things are aspects I didn't really think about before he arrived! While they may be at different times, the content within the streams should slowly start to return to normal, particularly on Sundays with random races and Gfreds. It's going to feel nice to get back to some normality in that respect I think.

I've also been able to make some videos over the last week or so, albeit in stages and at a slower pace than usual. In particular, testing videos are going to make a return with 2025 editions looking at different categorisations (eg. fastest, slowest, 4 seaters, etc). In addition, I'll finally get the last iRacing video for the previous season out and hopefully see a return of the real life racing series. I've always liked to have a mix of videos from streams and videos made just for YouTube so it's good to be getting back to a balance with that, after pretty much all videos for a while being stream footage with me not being able to make anything new.

Finally, things are starting to fall into place at home too. We're getting into a bit of a routine now and while it's still not easy and it's not going to be like it was before he was born, it's now possible to see how I'll be able to get some work done while Baby1322 is around. As hard and worrying as it's been to essentially stop everything regarding YouTube and Twitch for a while, I do believe it was the best option to devote all my time to figuring out our new little addition and build things back up over time. Other options would have been a lot more stressful.

Thank you all so much for sticking with me through it. It's not over yet as even now I'd say I'm not back to full working order, but we're getting there and I think at least scheduling and attempting regular content again will be a big step in the right direction. See you all next month for another post where I'll try to do a bit of a debrief on how this first month of "normality" has gone.
