Exciting Changes For 2024

Hello everyone and welcome to the first monthly update post for 2024. Since 2016 I've been making posts like this at the start of every month that go out to Patreon Supporters and YouTube Members of any level immediately. With my website redesign last year I also created a monthly blog page that contains the back catalogue of all these posts for archival purposes, and receives new posts for everyone to read two weeks after paid supporters receive access.

Since I've made a number of changes to things for 2024 (including the introduction of early access to videos) I'm going to make this month's update available to everyone from the start, and post it in the usual places as well as direct people to it via Discord and social media. Hopefully wherever you're reading this you'll enjoy a bit of an update on what's happening on my channel and surrounding services.

So last month I spoke about how the GTA 6 trailer felt like it was the the beginning of the end for GTA 5 and the start of a new era. I still feel that way, and I'm really happy I managed to get the 2024 Supercars testing video out in December to begin the final hurrah for GTA 5. I'm also thrilled with the response! A lot of stress and work went into that video (and the new series as a whole) so to see it received so positively was wonderful. I've still got a lot of work ahead of me but getting that first one out is always the most difficult.

In terms of plans for future testing videos, it looks like Sports, Muscle and Sports Classics will release on a monthly schedule; I'm aiming for the end of January, February, and March for those respectively. After that though I should be able to get on a schedule that sees a new full class specific testing video every two weeks as classes get smaller (less than 20 in Coupes vs over 80 in Muscle for example) and a lot of the testing has already been done for those smaller classes. Beyond the new testing series I'll be continuing the regularly scheduled stuff like Gfreds, random races, real life racing, and all the other things you're all used to.

This year hasn't started without its problems though, mainly caused by getting ill at the end of December. That illness has lingered into January and I'm still even now not 100%, which is annoying when I want to get stuff done and the new year kicked off. I took a break from streams due to all this and my hope is that I'll be caught up on everything before my first stream back on Sunday 14th. Speaking of Sunday streams, I'm really pleased with how the dual streaming to Twitch and YouTube simultaneously has been going. It took a bit of fine tuning but I think I have a system that works now, and it's been great to spread the stream goodness to more of you.

When it comes to the changes I've made to Patreon and YouTube Memberships, it's all with the new testing videos (and future GTA 6 content too) in mind. The primary change is the addition of early access to videos, with Tier 1, 2 & 3 supporters getting early access to 1, 2 & 3 YouTube videos each month respectively. The priority for these early access videos will always be new testing, then non-streamed content, then previously streamed content, depending on availability and what videos I have planned for that month. As well as all of that I've revamped the tier rewards on Patreon to offer more each month, especially on the interaction side where I'll be utilising the Discord chats much more frequently. In general my Patreon offers either cheaper options or more perks than YouTube Memberships as 95% of your support goes to me in comparison to 70% with YouTube. I tend to treat YouTube Memberships as a sort of hybrid support that combines parts of Twitch subscriptions (live stream notifications, badges, emotes, etc) with parts of Patreon support (name featured in videos, early video access, etc), but not the full experience of either.

As is always the case, thank you all so much to everyone who chooses to go the extra mile and support me monetarily on whatever platform suits you best. Even $1 is a huge step from zero and immensely helpful. Whether it's the live features of a Twitch sub, the numerous perks & rewards of Patreon support, the "bit of both" nature of YouTube memberships, the real items of a store order, or the maximum percentage going to me nature of one off donations via Streamlabs, it's all helps me continue to make content and I'm so grateful I'm able to do this for a living because I still love it.

Also thank you to everyone who continues to enjoy and watch my content, be it streams or videos. I know that not everyone is in the position or even has the desire to support monetarily, especially in times like this, and that's absolutely fine! Without all of you being here watching, liking, sharing, and commenting, those who can support monetarily wouldn't be here either. I'm grateful to all of you for your continued support and kindness.

If anything I've talked about here has piqued your interest, you can read up on all the ways you can support me (either free or monetarily) on the support page of my website, with links to join each service. For example there's a direct link to my Patreon page where you can check on all the new revamped rewards for each level of support.

See you all for another (normal length) update post next month on Patreon and YouTube for supporters first, then broughy.com/blog later. Thank you all once again - I'm looking forward to getting stuck in to things in 2024!

Since September 2016 I’ve been posting updates exclusively for supporters to patreon.com/broughy1322, and later also for YouTube members via the community tab. Those posts have been brought over here for archival purposes, and going forward new updates will be released here two weeks after they’re first released for Patreon supporters and YouTube members. Feel free to subscribe on those platforms with the links above to get these posts as soon as they go live.
