Looking Forward & Back
Hello everyone and welcome to September’s monthly blog post. As we move into the final season of my regularly scheduled content before what is always a busy December off-season, I‘d like to reflect on what was a pretty banger August for videos and talk about what’s in store over the next few months.
So I think it’s fair to say I’ve never had such a high concentration of “big” videos as what we saw in August. We obviously started with meeting the actors for GTA 5ᴬᵈ and the craziness that happened there, and then continued with the monumental Wanted eliminator video and the Gfred survival success follow-up. I think it’s often easy to get lost in the usual stuff with YouTube. Weekly Gfreds and random races are such staples at this point that it’s easy to forget about doing other things, so it was really nice to get back into some meaty videos which required a bunch of editing in order to tell the stories in the ways I wanted to tell them. It made me realise what I enjoy most about YouTube - the crafting of a special video. I think the new testing videos have been the only recent examples of that in the last few years, but it was also reminiscent of the big MCEC edits from years gone by. Really fun to have some big videos go up on the channel again and I’m really happy that both the actors vlog and wanted event have managed to surpass the 100k views mark.
Looking forward, I’m well into my planning now for wrapping up GTA 5. I’ve got things divided into three main periods of time: September up to the stream week; from the end of the stream week until the December DLC; and from January until the release of GTA 6. I've really tried to focus and get a bunch of things planned for each period that I really want to get done before we say goodbye to the game, so now it's just a case of working through each. They should all bring some good content I think, and ultimately I want to be able to be ready for May 2026 without feeling like there was anything left over that I didn't get chance to do. I imagine as the next 9 months goes on I'll give you more insights on what those things are in these posts, but for now just know that I'm cooking ;) And planning for yet another stream week at the end of September is well under way! I can’t wait to have some more fun on stream for a full week as we always do.
