Getting Some Rest

Welcome to the monthly Patreon/YouTube Members post for August - sorry it's a few days later than usual! Almost two weeks ago now I travelled to Sweden to spend time with Zearxy, her family, and my family who were coming along for a holiday too.

Unfortunately Rockstar had other ideas and decided to release the After Hours DLC on the same day I flew out. I had a later flight so I was able to do a stream on the morning (breaking my viewer count record in the process) and then had to set about testing the new cars on Wednesday and beyond. But I kept seeing the same message in comments and tweets - "you're on holiday, take a break!"

So I did. I made sure to get the Stafford testing done this Tuesday and had Patriot Stretch testing videos ready at the same time, and then switched off from YouTube & Twitch for a while. And it has been really nice to take some time away I have to say. All the stress of a new DLC and a constant need to be making content, whether videos or streams, can add up (which is also why you really do need to enjoy this kind of stuff, it's a 24/7 thing with no "switch off" time).

Even so, breaks are sometimes needed from anything and I do feel refreshed. I've even had some ideas for new things that probably wouldn't have come to me if I'd continued working or streaming. Giving your mind some space can be a big help in so many ways, and although it's something I find incredibly hard to do, I'm starting to understand its importance.
