I’m A Dad!

Just before midnight on the 24th of February I became a dad. I’ve gone through a lot of life changing things during my time on YouTube and since writing these monthly updates. Meeting Zearxy, moving out of my parents house, getting pets, going on big trips, becoming a married man. But this has by far been the most stressful, wonderful, terrifying, amazing, horrific, awe-inspiring, emotional experience of my life.

We’re still in the early stages but even now we’re seeing routines emerge and getting a glimpse into what our new life will look like. It’s busy. But getting easier each day I’d say.

From a content/work perspective, since that's what these updates usually focus on, this is easily the biggest change that I’ve ever gone through. I think the most time I’ve taken off from making videos and streaming was around five weeks the first time Zearxy and I went to California, but that had a definitive end date where things eventually went back to normal. The same is true of other interruptions like moving house and visiting family. That’s not going to be the case here. I have to figure out a new normal that balances being a parent, a husband, a homemaker, and work effectively.

That’s probably one of the things I usually struggle with the most when taking time away. I constantly worry about doing enough work to support myself financially, while at the same time being pulled the other way with life responsibilities. It feels like that is all exacerbated right now, where I’m needed at home more than ever while at the same time having another human to support. It's scary and always in the back of my mind, but I'm trying to just enjoy our little man at the moment and worry about that later.

Thank you all for your continued support - it means so much and I'm sure I'll figure things out sooner or later. At least I got that damn Coquette D5 tested. That was a very poorly timed release for me 😅
