Seasons Come & Seasons Go

As I sit here right now I don't really have any kind of topic in mind for this monthly Patreon post, so apologies in advance if it's more rambling than usual. Naturally it's the end of my first full off-season month as I detailed in last month's post, and it's been nice to take a break to let my mind rest. We'll be back to normal running for the next three months and we're starting with a bang, having the Random All marathon stream and the 100th Random All race, leading us into a week of streaming! My first full iRacing season is coming to an end this week too so it will be exciting figuring out what to do next.

However I must admit it's hard to feel like everything is normal. As many of you probably know after I mentioned it on the streams last weekend, a good friend of mine passed away last week unexpectedly. It's been difficult to come to terms with and fully realise, and in all honesty it's only just hitting me properly now. His funeral is down in London on Friday and although it's short notice I'm going to do everything I can to be there, despite the long drive for me from up in the north.

That means I'm going to miss the start of the Random All marathon (which needs to start on time to be able to finish on time - Zearxy is going to be doing the honours on Friday) and all the usual things I had planned to do over the next two days have all had to be swapped around. There won't be a discounts video tomorrow for example, though testing should still happen. Unlike a regular job I can't just take a day off work and have other people pick up the slack. I'm entirely responsible for everything I do and any time I take off, I usually have to  find a way to get it back later at some point. That's what I've had to do now.

But while that's one of the negatives of doing this, it's also a positive. The very fact that I have the ability to move things around if I need or want to allows me to go and do what I need to do in the first place. I'm sure there are plenty of jobs where getting time off on such short notice simply wouldn't be possible. And it's your support here that helps me to be in such a position. So thank you all so much for your continued support with everything I do. I never take it for granted and it's always very much appreciated. See you all soon <3
